Texas Health Resources RN II: L&D/Maternal/Newborn (nights) in Allen, Texas


Texas Health Allen, a baby friendly facility, has a full-time opportunity for an experienced acute care Labor & Delivery and Maternal/Newborn RN.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:


  • Required minimum education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

RNs hired after January 2014, require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date.

RNs hired within THR after December 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.

Required minimum experience:

One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program, or acceptance into a THR residency program.

Required license/certification:

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing;

Current AHA BLS/CPR training.

Credentials specific to specialty as defined -

current ACLS and NRP certifications and completion of a Fetal Monitoring Course and STABLE certifications within 6 months of hire

Required skills (if applicable):

A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility with schedule.

Critical thinking skills.


*Bachelor's degree in nursing or must commit to obtain BSN within two (2) years from date of entry into position.

Three (3) years of recent Labor & Delivery and Maternal/Newborn RN experience from an acute care facility.

*Basic computer skills - computerized charting - use EPIC/Care Connect

*Flexibility with schedule

*Ability to work in a LDRP type setting

Skills: Triage, labor, deliver, circulate C-sections, and recover patients, couplet care


*Full-time: 36 hours/week, (3) 12-hour shifts/week, 6:30PM-7:00AM, rotating weekends and holidays, variable schedule.


  • Physical set-up is an LDRP, however practice as an LDR

  • 22-bed LDR's

  • 2 OR suites

  • Baby friendly distinction

  • Have Surgical Techs/CST's

  • Have a 6-bed Level 3 Neonatal ICU (28-weeks gestation on up)
