Minimum Education required: Bachelor's degree in health information management, healthcare administration, computer science, information technology, statistics, mathematics
Minimum Experience required: 3 years working with healthcare data
Licensure/certification required: RHIA Required
Skills required : Exceptionally strong analytic abilities, with a proven track record; extensive experience in MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and other statistical packages; basic knowledge of ICD 9 and 10 coding systems for reporting purposes; ability to interpret healthcare data and develop recommendations on findings; knowledgeable in compiling statistical data; understanding of interoperability of HIM technology and workflows; understands clinical workflow in electronic medical record environment. In depth understanding of medical record documentation requirements; ability to interpert and apply CMS, TJC and other regulatory requirements; ability to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures; demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines; ability to handle multiple projects.
Duties: Human Resources
Direct, manage and leverage employee expertise to accomplish goals enterprise-wide.
Monitor employee performance, provide regular feedback and intercede promptly to address performance issues.
Recruit, train, develop and retain qualified staff.
Coach and mentor subordinate employees in order to improve performance and expand responsibilities.
Assit employees in building relationships and supporting accurate data and reporting.
Create and foster an environment that supports THR's mission, vision and values.
Promote a professional image in demeanor, appearance, attitude and behaviors.
Keeps abreast of regulatory changes as they relate to medical record documentation requirements.
Understand, intrepert, educate and communicate changes to stakeholders as they relate HIMS policies and procedures.
Ensure HIPAA Security and compliance by managing the data requirements and reporting needs.
Continually conducts industry environmental scans to identify changes, threats and opportunities.
