Texas Health Resources Sanitation Transporter in Arlington, Texas
Full Time - 2nd shift - 3:00pm-11:30pm
High School Diploma or GED preferred
1 year relevant experience with floor cleaning equipment in an institutional setting.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and follow instructions.
Capable of working independently, setting priorities
Transports general, biohazard and hazardous waste from patient or ancillary areas throughout the facility using both initial push/pull and sustained force when transporting carts to appropriate vendor pickup locations.
Transports recycling products in totes and by other means to identified holding locations. Transports clean or soiled linen as needed.
Removes trash from general trash receptacles from main hospital entrances, both inside and out, to maintain esthetics of the facility.
Assist in the transport and disposal of old furniture and equipment no longer required by hospital.
Assists in the transport of furniture or equipment for relocation of office, area or department as needed to support hospital goals and initiatives.
Follows safety and infection control practices when:
Handling and disposing of regular and medical waste; Practicing proper hand hygiene techniques; Demonstrating use of proper PPE when handling or transporting waste; Using standard and isolation precautions, as required.
Safely uses the proper equipment for each assignment. Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
Responds to floods or spills with appropriate equipment (i.e.: wet vac's; scrubbers, etc.). Demonstrates ability to respond to emergency situations timely to positively affect safety hazards; protect hospital environment and minimize impact to patients, visitors and staff.
Receives annual medical waste training to provide authorization for signing of medical waste documentation for vendor.
Maintains cleanliness of the dock on a routine basis.
