Trowbridge & Trowbridge is seeking a Systems Architect to join our outstanding T&T team in Austin, TX.

Position Description/Responsibilities:

  • Must have extensive experience in the coordination of program and project leaders to identify requirements for system architecture.

  • Must be able to identify strategies for addressing requirements.

  • Must have extensive experience with analysis of requirements against fiscal, schedule, and performance issues.

  • Extensive experience in taking program requirements and is able to create an architecture vision having experience in high volume and high availability networks and systems.

  • Experience in creating and conveying to team members the architectural vision for a program or project. Is responsible for dictating design choices to software developers, including but not limited to: platforms, coding and technical levels.

  • Experience in establishing and enforcing standards and practices.

  • Overseeing the development team, he manages the full life cycle of the software development process. Has extensive software development experience and thorough knowledge of a variety of programming languages and logic.

  • Supports the Enterprise Asset Management process by managing the day-to-day BMC Discovery (formerly ADDM) raw data feeds to CA Software Asset Manager (SAM).

  • Manages any changes to the connectors and ensures that day-today flow of data from multiple Discovery sources is functional and healthy.

  • Is responsible for the administration, maintenance and care of the Discovery application.

  • Represents the best interests of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) team when working with vendors and cross-functional teams.

  • Executes special project efforts as requested by the ITAM manager.

  • Supports the goals and objectives of the ITAM team.

  • As a representative of ITAM, participates in multiple cross-functional meetings and discussion as a Subject Matter Expert as it relates to other Discovery sources and data.

  • Works with ITAM lifecycle and work flow, the flow of Discovery assets and how the data is used.

  • Can expand upon the standard data feed of Discovery to add VMWare and data from other sources such as CA Spectrum.

  • Ensures that both hardware and software flow to CA SAM as a part of the overall ITAM.

  • Ensures the Discovery components are running healthy each day.

  • Analyzes and reports on issues, works with BMC as required to report problems and incidents.

  • Performs investigation and research to resolve exceptions or issues relating to the data accuracy, inconsistency or missing data attributes.

  • Installs new version(s) of BMC Discovery

  • Configures Discovery based on best practices and the needs of the client.

  • Creates and maintains written documentation and builds instructions related to process and daily operational tasks.

  • Creates custom reports.

  • Designs custom discovery patterns to identify unique applications both custom internally developed and off-the-shelf that is not part of the BMC out of the box capability.

  • Creates service and application maps.

  • Tests and applies monthly technology knowledge updates.

  • Performs quarterly operating system updates on Discovery appliances.

  • Maintains access control to Discovery.

  • Deploys Discovery infrastructure components as required to enable greater coverage.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required with 5 years experience.

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
