Avnet, Inc. Account Manager II - Embedded in Austin, Texas

Job Summary:

Field sales executive focused on customers to achieve revenue goals in assigned accounts. Identifies customer needs and applies Avnet’s value proposition to drive sales growth and improved profitability. Develops strategic relationships and aligns customer and Avnet business goals, creating and managing a business and execution plan for shared success among the customer, vendor partners and Avnet.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the customer interface to all Avnet resources that drives and supports high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty, as measured in surveys and share of wallet

  • Develops strong, strategic relationships with customer(s) to identify and leverage the customers’ business goals, growth strategies and profit drivers to deliver the appropriate Avnet value proposition sales solution strategy

  • Provides leadership and guidance in critical customer planning and engagement

  • Performs critical customer analysis to identify and leverage the partner’s marketing programs to achieve growth in their customer’s solutions capability

  • Engages customer(s) in joint planning that integrates Avnet services, programs and supplier partnerships securing customer commitment for the development of a comprehensive investment in strategies that advance Avnet’s market position, entanglement and financial goals

  • Conducts regular business reviews with assigned accounts to track progress toward revenue and growth goals and owns execution of business plan.

  • Maintains and monitors pipeline and metrics for assigned customers, performs analysis and identifies improvement opportunities

  • Supports our supplier's strategies by aligning solutions with our customer to maximize profitable growth, and customer expansion

  • Prioritize customers and opportunities with greatest potential for success

  • Closely manages profitability by minimizing profit leaks and maximizing gross profit

Job Level Specifications:

  • Expert knowledge of assigned product / service line and broad understanding of how they integrate with the organization's entire product / service line.

  • Typically works on a cross-section of large and/or prominent accounts with several changing variables and complexity.

  • Work is performed under very limited direction. Has considerable latitude in determining best approach to sales and service tasks.

  • Maintains excellent rapport with existing clients and frequently interacts directly with new prospects to build customer base and increase sales. Provides input to sales management.

  • Actions impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work or meet customer expectations will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational sales goals and may cause long-term damage to client relationships.

Work Experience:

  • 6+ years experience in sales

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Possesses thorough knowledge of products and services, typically for a specific brand or line business and expands knowledge of additional brands or lines of businesses.

  • Exhibits the ability to interface with the outside sales customer of increasingly more complex accounts

  • Responsible for selling the company’s products or services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts. Typically assigned to large and more complex accounts.
