Pay rate: $14.90 per hour
Reports to the supervisor, outreach and admissions (OA). Responsible for recruiting and screening student candidates for enrollment and providing liaison with other recruitment agencies utilized by the region, in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) directives.
- Assist and provide guidance to prospective Job Corps enrollees by determining basic eligibility, conducting screening, and providing career- based counseling.
2.Conduct outreach activities, including public speaking; develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations and churches; contacting potential enrollments to explore enrollment.
Meet monthly goals established by management to include prospecting, processing, and enrolling students.
Assess, verify and document applicant eligibility and suitability for the program; enroll eligible and suitable applicants who can benefit from the program.
Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students Prepare related reports.
Prepare applications on potential students and review with DOL Regional Office and the center as applicable.
Coordinate transportation services for new enrollments.
Arrange for per-enrollment seminars and tours.
9.Assist in community relations activities.
Assist the center in retention efforts to achieve outreach commitment goals, monitor progress of students recruited and provide supportive services, as needed.
Prepare assigned applicants to depart safely for their assigned centers and ensure assigned applicants are prepared for successful enrollment.
Assist with center tours to prospective applicant parents, school counselors, and employers as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
Ensure students learn and practice set behavioral expectations that support employability and social development for career readiness success.
Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices; attend all required training.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, or associates degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps enrollment or successful enrollment in other youth development programs. Experience working with youth, excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
