We are seeking a high caliber Pricing Operations Analyst. Working in support of SJM US Sales Division, and in conjunction with Corporate Accounts and Field Sales personnel, analyzes contracted pricing practices to assure conformity with conceptual sales and revenue objectives. Pricing Operations Analyst is accountable for development and realization of accurate and timely achievement of group contract pricing arrangements between SJM and client. Analyst is also responsible for identification and diagnosis of root causes of “off contract” pricing, and ensuring that all appropriate regional personnel are aware of and have supportable justifications for modifications to contract. Ensure that documentation of actionable details are sufficient to develop analytics in support of Corporate Accounts pricing strategy. Researches, identifies and uses best business practices to ensure success of work assignments and/or projects.

Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical:

  • Must facilitate an on-going business relationship between Corporate Accounts management, Field Sales management Sales Representatives, Customer Service and Sales Operations personnel as it relates to pricing

  • This is done by communicating and explaining results of analysis to stakeholders and providing an implementation plan and justification for recommended course of action based on critical, defined business objectives and appropriate metrics

  • Utilizes appropriate techniques to represent the department as a professional and analytically sophisticated organization

  • Utilizing all available communication methods to ensure that contractual relationship between St. Jude Medical and customer has been properly conceived and documented

  • Involved as appropriate, in the investigation of pricing issues between Customer and SJM Accounts Receivables department

  • Assists in substantiating the validity of customer claims and implementing the proper resolution

  • Responsible for ensuring that current pricing is available to Sales Support and Field Sales personnel by properly managing the daily receipt of contracts, amendments and inquiries

  • Develops and maintains an understanding of pricing strategy through relationship with Corporate Accounts personnel

  • Note: Pricing is negotiated by Corporate Accounts and covers price, effectivity dates and new product introduction

  • Investigates all “off-contract” pricing orders received to determine accuracy, analyze root cause of special pricing requirement and performs resolutions as appropriate

  • Then utilizes periodic data to expose and communicate “special pricing” trends that require strategic Corporate Account management intervention

  • Participates in projects in support of contract price data management, training and testing as assigned

  • Utilizes reports to verify pricing accuracy and customer pricing effectivity

  • Utilizes Business Objects reports to ensure that price changes having an impact on existing orders (credits/re-bill) are properly accounted for through appropriate channels

  • Performs monthly research to analyze performance anomalies by geographical territories as they relate to pricing (Manual Orders, backdating, etc.), determine root cause and take appropriate action including communicating resolution to Corporate Accounts an Sales personnel

  • Processes regularly scheduled reports for investigation, reconciliation or analysis:

  • Various System reconciliation reports – to confirm consistent information is transmitted between various elements of the ERP pricing system

  • MS Suite Applications – Utilizes software to mine, manipulate and analyze data from multiple sources

  • Responsible for maintaining a current understanding of all applicable company policies and organization guidelines and is expected to propose modifications by presenting data and fact based alternatives

  • Reviews existing departmental procedures to identify continuous improvement opportunities

  • Is responsible for the implementation, documentation and team training of process improvements

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned

Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical’s marketplace success:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three plus years of progressively more responsible business administrative experience, including contractual documents

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, ability to work under general supervision and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Requires an ability to grasp; process improvement techniques, process flow procedures, a general understanding of company products, policies and programs

  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer

  • Advanced proficiency with all MS Office products

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally

Your preferred qualifications and education:

  • Knowledge of the medical device industry

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related field
