We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Commissions Analyst, Sr. Working without appreciable supervision, this position leads in the development, implementation, execution and payment of USD’s Sales Compensation Plans and related Employee Agreements. Prepares internal and external USD Compensation statements, supporting schedules, performs financial compensation and data review/analysis, assists in preparation/completion of accounting and compensation month-end closings, and assists in financial compensation reporting. Applies and shares advanced expertise in the analysis and review of sales and legal requirements for the purpose of executing commission and bonus payments. Initiates the planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing of sales compensation work, and may contribute to the performance evaluations of other department personnel. Remains abreast of and consults on Sales Compensation trends and financial standards. Possesses and exercises strong relational database management and organizational skills. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Assures the quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements. Exercises judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status to manager. Leads in a team environment, and shares expertise on operational sales activities and related applications.

Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical:

  • Analysis and development of sales compensation plan requirements, and ensuring proper implementation and testing of calculations, results and reporting.

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and execution of all SJM USD Sales Compensation and Bonus Plans and their relation Employee Agreements and related data processes.

  • Exhibit a high level of proficiency with relational databases and software applications, and share knowledge and expertise with the staff.

  • Develop new spreadsheet analytics that enhance analysis to ensure the most reliable results.

  • Demonstrate a lead role within the group that focuses on best customer service results with internal and external customers; exhibit an example role for communication and interaction with customers.

  • Take a lead role in audit projects.

  • Take a lead role in interacting with other departments, such a General Accounting, Finance, Compensation/HR/Legal, IT and Internal Audit.

  • Assume a leading role on project teams in the implementation of new/upgraded designs in software and processes, and sales compensation plans.

  • Assume the lead on ad-hoc project requests, and ensure proper follow-up on results.

  • Assists in financial and sales compensation closing activities, including reconciliations and final pay file distributions.

  • Ensures Financial, Data and Sales Compensation processes are in compliance with internal and external audit practices and documentation.

  • Remains current on developments on field of expertise.

  • Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical’s marketplace success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 5-7 years in a Financial/Accounting/Sales Analyst role(s), and inclusive of experience in a Commission Accountant/Analyst role.

  • 5-7 years in Financial/Sales Reporting and Database Management modeling.

  • Must demonstrated advanced Excel/Access skills, the ability to interface data with new or existing software and/or applications, and prepare routine ad-hoc reports using SQL and other data mining tools.

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
