The Bid and Contract Specialist position has a wide range of responsibilities that are focused on responding to competitive procurement opportunities from Apple’s direct customers (Education, Enterprise, and Government). The Specialist works with approvers from various Apple business units to develop our contractual response to terms and conditions contained in bids, RFPs, and similar competitive bidding opportunities, including responding to, and processing reps and certifications. Other support functions include, but are not limited to, contributing to process improvements, and advising Apple-internal stakeholders on general contractual matters. The position is accountable for evaluating, advising and proactively resolving issues requiring research, creativity and the development of new approaches to enable Apple to win the business while safeguarding Apple and providing a positive customer experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyze contractual terms and conditions, and assess the risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation (Keynote) skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work directly with executive teams.
Excellent planning, analytical, organization and problem solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a strong team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills are a must, as is attention to detail.
Ability to operate seamlessly toggling between multiple highly detailed and contractual situations as well as strategic situations.
Ability to adjust to evolving business requirements such as reassignment of project priorities, change in strategic direction, organization and customer needs.
Adept and experienced working in a global, fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.

5+ years of experience in Bids and Contracts within the Technical and Legal industry.
5+ years Contract drafting, contract negotiation and project management experience including. familiarity with common legal and contractual requirements.
Highly desired; A background in contract operations and a track record supporting sales organizations selling to both public and private sector education institutions nationally.Description
This position successfully partners with Apple business units to draft, revise and negotiate Apple’s approved responses to contractual terms and conditions contained within bids, RFPs, and similar procurement opportunities. This role will suit a candidate with strong project management skills and business process improvement skills. The candidate will partner well with cross-functional teams and work well in high-pressure situations with extremely tight deadness. Works closely with the Contract Negotiators, Bid Project Managers and Contract Operations to ensure transparency of deliverables, deadlines, and dependencies. Assist with obtaining approvals, validating content provided by the appropriate Apple business units (Finance, Legal, Risk Management, AppleCare, etc.) Goal of individual and team is to respond to every bid by customer due date - 100%. Additionally, the candidate will work with the appropriate approvers to complete reps, certs, affidavits, and similar forms as required by our customers.
Given the nature and sensitivity pertaining to contracts including restricted content, customer and new business ventures, NPI, “need to know” and ‘proprietary information’ practices at Apple, this role requires ultimate discretion and integrity.
•Certification, or equivalent from an accredited association such as: National Contract Management Association (NCMA) a plus.
•Relevant project management certification such as: PMP, AGILE certified Practitioner a plus.
•3-6 years relevant project management experience in a related field.
•Requires strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat skills.
•Familiarity with Apple-internal applications such as CLM, account management systems (GMACC) is a plus, but not essential.
