IBM Cloud Security Technical Program Manager in AUSTIN, Texas

We are looking for a Cloud Security Technical Program Manager in Austin, TX to join our Cloud Innovation Lab team, who innovates & shares our passion for winning in the cloud marketplace. The Cloud Innovation Lab is a team dedicated to ensuring that IBM Cloud is at the forefront of cloud technology, from data center design to network architecture to storage and compute clusters to flexible infrastructure services. We are building IBM's next generation cloud IaaS platform to deliver performance and predictability for our customers' most demanding workloads, at global scale and with efficiency, resiliency, and security. As the Cloud Security Technical Program Manager and Data Security Partner at IBM Cloud Lab Genesis, you will be responsible for ensuring that Genesis Cloud Information Security and Privacy Compliance regulations are recognized and followed by all Genesis teams, partners, organizations and its associates. You will become the subject matter expert and assist the Genesis teams, partners, departments in understanding the security regulations by conducting training sessions, facilitating meetings, interfacing with internal and external teams, partners, associates on a regular basis, creating communication materials, Security and compliance Services materials i.e. power point presentations and hand-outs. Responsibilities include:

  • Becoming the expert on corporate, International and regional Information Security and Privacy regulations.

  • Working with Genesis Cloud management, Genesis teams, partners and associates in a non-IT role to implement security and related compliance regulations and monitor the security and compliance level.

  • Completing risk assessments to apply an appropriate approach to the security regulations to mitigate risk.

  • Developing and coordinate security awareness building activities for partners and associates.

  • Collecting, organizing and maintaining documentation as required by regulations.

  • Supporting internal Genesis audits to ensure compliance.

  • Continuously building awareness on the security regulations.

  • Working with the Genesis Information Security and Compliance team to establish and document requirements and providing technical security solutions and/or alternatives that meet the requirements.

  • Identifying requirements by researching and analyzing needs, the Genesis’s objectives and organizational capabilities.

  • Assessing, monitoring and recommending improvements to the global Cloud architecture based on improving practitioner productivity, reducing risk, and balancing costs

  • Performing research and development to improve Genesis Cloud security technology

  • Remaining up to date on current and new Cloud technologies to determine relevancy and applicability

  • Generating and maintaining metrics for trending.


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a matrixed environment

  • Ability to manage the details of compliance with policies, standards and industry frameworks

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers.

  • Strong business and technical process design and documentation skills.

  • Possesses a high level of technical/functional expertise and knowledge.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Security Management/technical security sales/pre-sales role or Security Program/PM role

  • Experience designing and implementing Security technologies, including encryption and access controls / monitoring

  • High level certification in relevant technology areas

  • Management training or Project Management Experience
