Lead Commercial Audio and Video Installer

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: (not set in stone) $22-$31/Hour eligible for overtime and benefits including holiday and paid time off/vacation time

We are a stable, growing, commercial audio/video integration firm looking for an Experienced Audio/Video Technician. We have an outstanding company reputation and offer numerous opportunities to go to free trainings!

You will have at least 2 years in-field commercial audio and video installation as we are looking for a seasoned technician in AV industry to lead our installation teams.

Duties and Requirements:

Installation of all AV equipment to include: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems and all presentation systems

Installation of structured cabling to include pulling, terminating and testing cat5e/6, video, RGB, HDMI, DVI and audio cables

Install Crestron, Lutron and AMX control systems

Install video conferencing system including Polycom and Tandberg

Interface with external/internal clients and manufacture vendors

Pre-installation site survey when needed

Fabricate racks in-house or onsite at client location

Rig/mount of equipment and displays

Maintain daily communication with Lead Installation Technician, Project Manager and Installation Manager on status of projects and task lists

Travel to off-site corporate locations as part of system installation is required

Provide effective communication by supplying daily updates to project managers/leads

Ensure that project deliverables and milestones are met including close out documentation and punch list items

Perform quality control check on finished product/projects as needed

What You Need for this Position

At Least 2 Years of experience and knowledge of:

  • Installing Audio Video Equipment

  • Calibration of Audio Video Equipment

  • Reading Wiring Diagrams

  • Reading System Design Drawings

  • Programming Control Interfaces

  • Project Management

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • IP networking/PC and Network knowledge

  • Read and interpret drawing and redline drawings

  • Audio and video signal flow

  • Basic programming

  • Terminating cable (Cat5e/6, RS232, RXL, fiber optics)

  • Hanging projector

  • Infrastructure wiring

  • Hardware installation (including video wall)

  • Load Crestron and Biamp Code

  • Program all Extron control systems including DSP

  • Rack wiring

  • Rigging and mounting structure

Nice to haves:

  • Reading/understanding architecture, electrical, structural & AV systems drawings a plus

  • CTS, CTS-I, NSCA or Cedia
