Mutual Mobile, one of the leading names in mobile technology, is offering a paid internship at our office in beautiful Austin, Texas. Our intensive consumer insights internship offers the opportunity to do real work on real projects for clients you’ve actually heard of!
Our Consumer Insight projects are structured to answer two major questions: what is going to be useful for our users; and is what we are designing and building usable. In support of those two questions, we work on projects ranging from design concept studies using paper prototypes, to usability studies of working prototypes (with beta code), to structured ethnographic and diary studies exploring the lives and mobile opportunities of key target audiences, to quantitative surveys aimed at prioritizing potential feature sets.
As the Consumer Insights Intern, you will assist in the coordination, logistics and execution of research projects that help inform and validate the mobile solutions we build. You will be involved in the setup, recruitment, note taking and report creation of each project. You will apply skills and the knowledge picked up in the research to help drive measurable user experience improvements in our applications, and in the process will operate with various groups in the organization, including Design, Product Management, Strategy, Marketing, and Engineering.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (or recently graduated) in anthropology, cognitive psychology, human factors, HCI, design research, or marketing research.
- The ability to manage disparate projects and initiatives simultaneously.

- The ability to distill useful, relevant and actionable insights from large pools of qualitative data and observations.
