This position performs a significant amount of complex and non-routine accounting work. Assists with the development and maintenance of Accounting Policies as well as related Standard Operating Procedures. Relies upon experience to exercise discretion to make judgments regarding routine and non-routine issues.
Ensure the Fixed Asset Management System (FAS) and corresponding general ledger accounts are properly calculated, supported and reconciled.
Performs the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process relating to fixed assets.
Involved in all aspects of external and internal audit activities relating to fixed assets.
Assist in developing and implementing Accounting Policies and Standard Operating Procedures to support the tracking and reporting of fixed assets in accordance with GAAP.
Assist in reviewing and enhancing analysis and analytical processes and controls.
Assist direct reports in resolution of complex and/or non-routine issues.
Other duties as assigned by Fixed Asset Manger.
One to two years of experience
Demonstrated superior levels of initiative and accountability
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage performance of a team for superior results.
Demonstrated business acumen with a strong understanding of financial controls and financial statements.
Excellent Analytical and problem solving skills
Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages
Ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints
Four year degree in accounting
CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
