This is the place to do your life's best work.(sm) The Provider Data Consultant is responsible for various activities related to the provider network database which may include any or all of the following: database maintenance, reporting and extracting data for various reports and analyses, initiating database improvement.

Provider Data Consultants develop and maintain standards for database integrity and quality assurance, coordinate corrective activities to clean database and retain users, and manage communication processes with other departments regarding database improvements.

Other responsibilities include conducting audits and providing feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance, maintaining current provider data to ensure the quality of the network, and may be responsible for representing the provider network area on company IT projects, reporting and tracking provider calls and complaints, or for the support, coordination, and production of the paper directory cycles.

Primary Responsibilities: Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions Perform complex conceptual analyses Review work performed by others and provide recommendations for improvement Forecast and plan resource requirements Authorize deviations from standards May lead functional or segment teams or projects Provide explanations and information to others on the most complex issues Motivate and inspire other team members Strong emphasis will include managing and tracking details pertaining to large volumes of provider data This Provider Data Consultant supports the national Provider Data Validation program.

The duties include extracting and analyzing large volumes of provider and validation data, batching PDV forms for sending to providers via Crystal Reports and macro technologies.

Compiles results for system updates to PDM and/or macro team. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 5+ years of Healthcare Data Analysis experience (preferably provider and/or claims data) Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook Intermediate level of Database Administration experience (SQL and/or Access or other database Administration) Experience manipulating large volumes of data with a high degree of accuracy. Preferred Qualifications: VBA skills Crystal Reports experience Macro building experience Experience in Managing cross functional projects and making presentations Careers with Optum.
