Technology, Projects and Drilling (TPD) aims to provide safe, efficient and cost competitive global well and project delivery, where cost competitive procurement will be an important contributing factor. Corporate wide procurement services will furthermore help drive down costs in the broader organisation. As Statoil’s technology centre, the business area aims to ensure commercially focused global technology development and implementation. In addition, the business area will provide line management with global expertise and global standards based on best practice. Moreover, the business area will drive the fast track initiative to move towards the industrialisation of small field development on the Norwegian continental shelf.
During the course of this summer internship, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to support Supply Chain activities supporting either the Onshore or Offshore business units.
This support will take the form of a project (potentially one large project, or several smaller projects), with expectations, deliverables and timelines agreed between the Supply Chain Intern and relevant leader at beginning of the summer.
The work is to be conducted in a safe, legal, and environmentally/socially responsible and effective manner, and in conformance with established Statoil guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable governmental regulations.
The Supply Chain Intern will report to the manager for one of the functional teams within Procurement International, US and Mexico.
Responsibilities and Duties
The key responsibilities of the Procurement intern will vary depending on the type of project conducted over the summer. Projects will be tailored to match needs of the business with the interest of the intern. Examples of projects include:
Develop sourcing strategy and execute a Request for Proposal process
Build comparison models to evaluate vendor responses
Build should-cost models for selected services
Execute tasks within the Requisition to Pay cycle (within SAP and Oildex OpenInvoice)
Perform spend analytics and develop dashboards/metrics
Review and improve process areas
Contract management and administration
Sophomore or Junior in pursuit of a B.S. or M.S. degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or similar
GPA 3.0 and above is required
