General Description

This Equipment Quality Engineer position will be responsible for implementation of semiconductor equipment related quality system improvements/deployments/audits as well as supporting the quality operations activity.

Specific Job Duties:

  • System deployment of medium to large-scale projects that are cross-functional in nature and have visibility to company executives

  • drive quality indices to achieve established business objectives

  • coordinate and lead activity in response to daily operations issues and quality concerns to achieve root-cause countermeasures and recurrence prevention

  • Improve FDC signal to noise ratio, deploy improvements to methodology, and drive departments in root cause identification and preventative action implementation.

  • perform internal audits of all SAS departments to ensure SAS is in compliance established specs and standards

  • lead self-audit team by facilitating audit objectives and enforce on-time completion of audits from all members

  • analyze and assess risks for equipment change points

  • manage change points within established rules

  • utilize FMEA approach in risk analysis of change points

  • identify and drive to narrow quality gaps in change management

  • conduct comparative analysis across productions lines and heterogeneous equipment to isolate discrepant indicators related to device performance

  • interact with engineering, manufacturing, services group counterparts, and executives to help achieve quality goals

  • enforce rules & systems based operation to all employees while ensuring SAS procedures are continuously evolving and current

  • analyze and make recommendations to help improve quality indices for each department’s processes and programs

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools:

  • Knowledge of semiconductor fab process equipment and yield/reliability mechanisms required

  • Knowledge and experience in tool to tool matching

  • A high level of self-motivation and strong communication skills (written and presentation) required

  • Must be capable of problem solving complex situations and collaborating across multiple departments to achieve results

  • Must be able to quickly learn complex systems to execute job function within the following SAS systems: eSpec, GPM, SiMax, WorkPlace, EMS, YMS, SPC Module, and SharePoint

  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products is required

  • Candidate must have experience with meeting and exceeding quality objectives through use of ASQ quality tools

  • Detailed understanding and experience with FDC interlock management and improvement is required

  • Experience in high product mix, high volume fab environment is preferred

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required:

  • BS degree required - engineering, materials science or related field preferred.

  • Four to seven years of semiconductor engineering experience preferred.

  • Advanced project management skills, Project Management credentials preferred.

  • Lean/6Sigma/ASQ certification preferred.
