General Description

Operation Control Team - B Shift Engineer

  • Daily Replay (Automated Test System) test are conducted for locally developed or GH standardization code before releasing into a production platform.

  • Ensure data source validity for accurate report results and conduct query tuning for performance improvements.

  • Take part in a new development or standardization deployments with other lines in global manufacturing network.

  • Assist in creating design specs to outline proposed changes to existing systems in order to fulfill customer requirements.

  • Communicate system change points and issue resolutions clearly to members in the department and internal customers in the company.

  • Plan periodically for preventative maintenance activities and provide awareness of system performance and reliability.

  • Work with international (Korea) and local team members to resolve issues and ensure proper integration with other related systems

Specific Job Duties:

  • Responsible for implementation & maintenance of internal system applications

  • Provide excellent customer support to Engineering departments

  • Troubleshoot user reported system issues & review VOC requests

  • Recommend existing system side solutions to Engineering departments experiencing problems

  • Trace, debug, & troubleshoot application source code

  • Understand underlying system interactions with other internal systems

  • Complete unit testing on newly developed functionality and updates received from other developers

  • Creation of system training material

  • Document source modifications & new functionality for upcoming releases

  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical system escalations

  • Coordinate development opportunities with System Engineers located in Korea

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools:

  • Programming knowledge is required.

  • Knowledge/Experience with Oracle & SQL Server Databases

  • Must have understanding of SQL; Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle experience preferred.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Basic understanding of System Architectures (Software & Hardware Interactions, Networks)

  • Knowledge/Experience with both Windows & Unix Environments

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical details in both verbal and written forms.

  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment

  • Experience working with source code repositories

  • Flexible with work hours to attend conference calls with developers in Korea

  • Be able to support 24x7 manufacturing environment

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related major
