• Reports allegations of patient abuse, neglect and/or misappropriation of patient property

Safety and Sanitation

• Follows established safety policies and procedures

• Observes safety needs of patients as indicated in care plan

• Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations

Staff Development

• Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes

Payroll Responsibilities

• Performs all daily, weekly, and pay period close responsibilities related to payroll processing, as outlined in the

Kronos user manual

• Reviews Standard Hours Report for accuracy and makes recommendations to change standard hours and status

as required

• Maintains strict confidentiality of all employee data

• Understands how to calculate overtime, according to state and federal law

• Ensures timely and accurate submission of payroll

• Updates employee information for withholding of union dues, if applicable, in a timely manner

• Supports HCR ManorCare’s “go green” initiative with electronic pay and online pay/W2s

• Sends garnishment withholding orders to vendor in a timely manner

• Sends dated and signed garnishments and levies to vendor

• Archives payroll information according to federal and state regulations

• Processes across-the-board increases, if applicable, in a timely manner

• Maintains records of vacation time, sick time, personal and funeral days, and attendance; Completes individual

accrual/absence records

• Records all requested deductions and mails to home office

• Compares time sheet totals to check register to determine reasonableness of check

• Checks for supervisor approval of Kronos time detail

• Calculates and submits retroactive payments, holiday pay, vacation pay, and sick time

• Answers questions about pay, overtime and other payroll issues

• Records worked time, jury duty, and other time by appropriate categories

• Processes Kronos exception reports daily for distribution to department heads for review and correction; Enters

edits indicated by department heads

• Enrolls new employees into biometric time clock when required

• Ensures that schedules are input into Kronos system as directed by department

• Reviews and verifies the following payroll reports:

o Check Register-Reviews regular hours, OT hours, sick hours, vacation hours, etc.; Adjusts gross

o Reviews rates and department assignments for accuracy; Verifies new employees are listed and that

terminated employees are deleted

o Deduction Report-Ensures proper amounts are being deducted from pay

o Quarterly Master File-Verifies accuracy of termination date, vacation dates, birth date, hire date, level of

benefits, marital status and exemptions, work status (full or part time), social security number, name,

address, tax codes and standard deductions

o Personal Change Forms-Verifies correct pay rates, correct department assignment, correct employee

code, etc

o Completes timely and accurate biweekly pay and notifies Administrator for approval and sign off

• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required
