Job Description:

This position will lead an International, Multi-state Payroll Tax and Accounting team to ensure that all federal, state, local, and international tax returns, filings, and remittances are submitted and accounted for and Team goals are achieved.


  • Responsible for implementing procedures to comply with all relevant payroll tax laws

  • Manage processes related to payroll tax filings, returns, payments, and reconciliations

  • Maintain and audit all tax tables in payroll system with relevant rates and limits

  • Manage processes related to unemployment filing and reporting

  • Analyze unemployment data metrics

  • Manage the processing, maintenance, and reporting of all relevant fringe benefits and W2 reportable income

  • Partner across teams to implement and maintain necessary procedures to comply with all payroll tax laws

  • Manage the research and response of payroll tax related correspondence

  • Responsible for maintaining SOX compliance

  • Manage vendor relationships

  • Banking and Electronic Funds Transfers

  • Manage processes for ensuring the transmission of all electronic payments in a timely manner

  • Implement and manage procedures to accurately balance and report electronic payments to ensure funding and proper cash management

  • General Ledger Accounting

  • Implement and review processes to ensure all payroll information is being recorded on the GL. This includes the areas of bank reconciliation, team member advances, garnishments, and tax accrual accounts

  • Regularly review GL mapping with Accounting to ensure accurate recording of data


  • 5+ years’ proven experience in a large volume, multi-state payroll tax environment

  • 5+ years’ payroll accounting or similar experience

  • 3+ years’ manager experience

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting policies and principals

  • Prefer knowledge of Workday or similar HRMS system

  • Demonstrated self-starter in fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Excellent Communications Skills

  • Strong Leadership Skills

  • Good Project Management Skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • High customer service orientation

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification or CPA certification preferred

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Ability to travel occasionally
