Quality Senior Engineer - Hardware/Software Integration - Austin, TX (16000S3E)

Role Overview

The Quality Engineer will support our Cloud Client-Computing offerings of world-leading virtual desktop solutions and products. As the world leader in complete end-to-end solutions for desktop virtualization, the Dell CCC Quality Engineer will support solutions consisting of back-end VDI reference architectures, class-leading VDI appliances, and class-leading Wyse thin/zero clients and software.

Lead Core Team (Product Team) as the quality engineer responsible for the identification and implementation of actions to resolve customer issues, reduce dispatch rates and cost of dissatisfaction. Work with cross-functional team to lead the escalation and CLCA process in support of Thin Client hardware.


  • Drives continuous improvement in the quality of Dell systems, peripherals and software, as experienced by customers

  • Ensures quality goals and performance measurements are met

  • Drives investigation, capture, root cause failure analysis, containment, corrective actions and process improvements to prevent issue recurrence

  • Conducts quality post-mortem and documents lessons learned and recommendations to prevent recurrence of quality issues

  • Program management of quality deliverables/processes during development lifecycle process, such as phase review process

  • Combine FIR (Filed Incident Rate), NPS, CSat and other KPIs with qualitative insights analysis (unstructured customer feedback) to understand and prioritize loyalty opportunities

  • Identify new vehicles for capturing customer data and insights, integrate with other internal KPI’s to establish best model for predicting loyalty behaviors

  • Supports RFQ’s on an as needed basis


  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Advanced Communication/presentation skills, starting proactive communication with leadership or global teams, starting to recommend options and solutions

  • Understanding global components such as understanding of cultural differences, time zones, etc.

  • Solving problems that affect the project objectives and recognizes impact, benefits and risks advises on solutions

  • Advanced understanding of technology discipline, such as hardware, software, solutions and ability to influence other team members through technical expertise

  • Advanced understanding quality tools, data, and processes and can use those tools to influence design decisions and improvements within organization

  • Considers impact on customers in quality decisions

  • Provides input within team decisions that are impactful to customer needs, and sometimes influences project decisions with customer viewpoint


  • Graduate Degree and 4 years of relevant experience

  • Experience dealing with ambiguous situations within project, across organization
