Senior Manager, Engineering (Austin, Texas)
Key Areas of Responsibility
Accountable for the design, implementation, quality and completion of the product deliverables
Concerned with long term improvements to the group and organization
Manages the process, structure and procedure to control development
Manages reviews and ensures there is accountability and that the management of projects and stakeholders are in place
Allocates and re-allocates resources to projects to ensure its success
Recruits and builds effective teams by understanding the technical skills, critical roles and chemistry between associates
Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing multiple teams of software developers working on both front end and backend services. You will own and drive technical projects and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment. You will manage and lead teams of software engineers to design and develop new features and systems deployed globally. You will participate in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional and geographically dispersed team, work closely with management, actively participate in recruitment of candidates for technical positions and mentor junior technical staff.
You will have an established background in building and managing reliable software in a service-oriented environment, have such software operate at high-scale and reliability with high SLA's, have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results.
US Permanent Residence
BS in Computer Science or other technology discipline
10 years of software development experience
5 years people management experience
Experience managing onshore and offshore resources
Experience managing software development projects
Experience with large scale distributed systems
Development expertise in OOP, Java, and UNIX. Go and Service-oriented architectures a nice to have.
Proficiency with RDBMS and schema design
Experience with agile methodologies
Experience with Continuous Integration
