To create and lead the Workday Change Management Team in implementing a change management methodology utilizing diverse best practice change management strategies and plans for readying campus for Workday Human Capital Management(HCM)/Payroll and Workday Financials.

Essential Functions

DEVELOP METHODOLOGY AND LEAD CHANGE MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES: Responsible for the delivery of effective change management, which includes the development, tailoring, and application of a structured methodology and strategy based on situational awareness targeted at groups being impacted by the change(s). Create process models, specifications, narratives, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the program team. Direct the creation and development of implementation readiness materials. CONSULT AND COACH PROJECT TEAM: Act as a coach for business process owners in helping fulfill the role of change sponsor. The Change Management lead will also support the Workday Program in integrating change management activities into project plans and coaching change management staff on effectively executing those activities. MANAGE STAKEHOLDERS: Deliver campus-facing and internal change management activities to ensure ongoing stakeholder and user engagement, as well as articulate the ways in which changes will affect the users on a day-to-day basis. Identify project stakeholders, stakeholder characteristics, and associated change impacts. EVALUATE AND ENSURE USER READINESS: The Change Management Lead will ensure that each College, School, and Unit is sufficiently prepared for the impact of the Workday Program and integrations at Go-live, and design and deliver appropriate change impact assessment work. TRACK ISSUES AND RISKS: Track and report issues and risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and tactics. PROVIDE UPDATES: Create regular updates which highlight milestones and provide opportunities for celebrations of success.

Required qualifications

Demonstration of the competencies: Motivating others, Planning work for others, Managing conflict, Managing and measuring work, Managing diversity and Complying with policies and procedures at The University of Texas at Austin, typically acquired by a Bachelor's degree, five years of experience of project management and the university's Transition to Management Certificate (or equivalent). License, Certification, Registration: Prefer certification as project manager by recognized authority, such as the Project Management Institute (i.e., PMI). Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 5 years of relevant experience leading project change management activities and standard change management methodologies for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) projects preferably in higher education. Demonstrated experience with core change management tools including stakeholder assessment, readiness assessment, change impact analysis, job impact analysis, change management metrics, and change management rollout/execution plans. Demonstrated experience in customizing the change management approach to suit a public or higher education environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities often within tight timeframes. Ability to lead multiple change initiatives simultaneously. Demonstrates a solid understanding of the change process and how people undergo change.

Usual project environment. Work performed on multiple projects concurrently under pressure of rigid deadlines and time limitations. Extended hours may be required.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
