Volt Information Sciences Senior Selling Branch Manager (Staffing) in Austin, Texas

The Sr. Selling Branch Manager is responsible for development of new business, increasing existing business, reactivated business and orchestrating a successful and profitable operation. Work overtime and non-traditional business hours as needed. As a Sr. Selling Branch Manager, approximately 75% of the time will be dedicated to sales and business development for the branch. Position will focus on Clerical & Light Industrial service lines.

  • Manage assigned territory in an organized and systematic fashion. Develop business through a combination of methods that may include all or in part: research, lead generation, prospecting, networking and in-person appointments with new, reactivated and existing customers.

  • Generate leads through prospecting and cold calling, both in-person and via telephone.

  • Service and develop additional business opportunities within current customer base.

  • Maintain active participation and membership in networking organizations.

  • Meet all minimum requirements for weekly appointment activity and revenue growth (specific to Selling Manager position).

  • Complete all required sales reports and documentation by weekly deadlines.

  • Document details of all appointment and sales activity into Volt computer database in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Provide information on customers or prospects for bids and proposals that come into the region.

  • Coach inside staff to help develop their sales skills and comfort with the selling process.

  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop branch staff in an effort to create strong team members that contribute to the success and growth of the branch.

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for in-house staff.

  • Clearly communicate to in house staff expectations for day-to-day operations in relation to business functions.

  • Monitor, supervise and participate in branch recruiting plan to continually bring in new candidates in order to meet current and future customer needs or delegate recruiting of such as appropriate.

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • A minimum of 2 years outside sales experience with proven results.

  • Prior management and/or sales management experience in a related field or industry.

  • Previous P&L responsibility and/or exposure.

  • Previous experience servicing, supporting, developing and generating major accounts.

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in comparable field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
