ShoreTel Software QA Engineer in Austin, Texas

ShoreTel is looking for a jack of all trades; technically competent person to play a pivotal role in System and Solution testing for the Cloud and Hybrid-cloud deployments of ShoreTel’s next generation VoIP communications platform. In this role, you will join a team of experienced Test Engineers tasked with multi-disciplinary, comprehensive quality assurance of the ShoreTel products as deployed in real-world situations.

  • Work with cross-functional agile teams on feature development and defect fixes
  • Contribute to architecture and design requirements
  • Develop complex test plans for testing new functionality; design and author test cases
  • Identify software defects in new and existing functionality
  • Lead team members in areas consistent with subject matter expertise
  • Represent Test Engineering in inter-departmental program reviews
  • Assist in set up and management of testing environments
  • Leverage experience to evolve current processes and tools
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party testing applications, where appropriate


  • 2+ years’ experience in Test Engineering positions
  • Ability to work with high level specifications, think critically, and create comprehensive test plans
  • Experience with Unix-like operating systems and scripting languages
  • Web front-end and API testing experience
  • Background in SQL, Microsoft preferred
  • Background in a range of programming languages, C# experience a plus
  • Test automation experience a plus, especially Selenium
  • Experience in a service-based product a plus
  • Experience testing CRM and OSS systems a plus
  • Experience with software test automation tools a plus
  • Experience with HP Quality Center a plus
  • Ability to resolve critical issues and adapt to constant change
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology concepts and terminologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, detail oriented, and have the ability to work collaboratively with others


B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
