Acosta Sales & Marketing Strategy Analyst - Senior in Austin, Texas


Analytical support for the Acosta Insights team which includes supporting internal Acosta driven initiatives (new business development, strategic business management etc) and external client driven initiatives relating to Acosta Insights power alley of services including retailer and category insights, promotion insights, pricing, shelving/space management, and information management. Sr. Strategy Analyst will manage client projects independently and communicate directly with clients relating to Insights projects.


  • Independently manage Acosta Insights analysis presentations, as assigned.

  • Organize and analyze data from available data sources (including IRI, Nielsen, Spectra, POS data, Nielsen Homescan and others) and be able to extrapolate insights for clients.

  • Provide data and recommendations in support of Acosta Insights initiatives and projects.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior positions within Acosta Insights team.

  • Communicate with Acosta Insights project directors and Acosta Insights clients on status of projects.

  • Conduct field investigations, demographic studies, or other appropriate research to gather required information to make informed decisions.

  • Assist in identifying and developing new Acosta Insights tools and systems.

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


  • Must have college degree or 5 years experience in marketing/retail analysis (or previous experience as an Analyst) with specific knowledge of IRI and/or ACNielsen systems, other data gathering systems and their uses in creating reports, recommendations and presentations.

  • Must be computer literate with a degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, e-mail, database management, and prefer experience with ACNielsen NITRO, Spectra, and IRI’s XLerate.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others. Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, and printer, fax machine, telephone and copy machine.

  • Must be able to independently create presentations and derive insights from data.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with statistical modeling tools and techniques helpful (SPSS, SAS)
