Opportunity Details:


CSRA is looking for a System Administrator for an exciting project in Austin, TX supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The project supports the Veterans Self Service Portal and enables the VA to educate, empower, and connect Veterans while standardizing platforms to lower overall costs.

The System Administrator requires a diverse set of skills to define application server solutions, troubleshoot interoperability issues, implement application monitoring, and support performance monitoring. As the ideal candidate, you will have software development experience or exposure to understand cross-application and cross-system data processing dependencies. You must also understand content hosting techniques and data retrieval using Oracle. This is a very large project with many dependencies on external systems, people and data.


You will have the opportunity to contribute on an individual basis as well as demonstrate your strengths as a team player. Your contributions will include interfacing with multiple data center governance bodies to gain acceptance and support for solution environments. You will be engaged as a core team member of our Production Operations team.


  1. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 4 years progressive experience designing and developing applications in addition to the following:
  • 8+ years of application server experience using Weblogic

  • 8+ years of experience using Apache HTTP Server

  • 4+ years of troubleshooting ssl configuration issues

  • 4+ years of Linux experience

  • 6+ years troubleshooting server configuration issues

  • 2+ years of scripting language experienceSignificant hands-on experience as a System Administrator;

  1. Demonstrated experience configuring groups of servers to support application hosting for more than 500 concurrent users;

  2. Experience deploying multiple applications to WebLogic clusters and troubleshooting deployment issues;

  3. Experience configuring and deploying applications in Apache;

  4. Experience with scripting languages (Bash at a minimum);

  5. Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Desired :

  1. Experience with decomposing technical tasks and defining level of effort for complex systems;

  2. Access to VA systems;

  3. Ability to grasp technical architecture very quickly;

  4. Veteran preferred.

Years Of Experience:10+ Years; Required Education:Masters; however years of experience may be substituted for education.
