Job Summary

The Technical Data Analyst - Global CDS is responsible for the ongoing functional support and development initiatives as it relates to the data movement processes, encompassing the booked and transactional data. In this role the technical analyst is responsible for the ongoing functional support of the data and the systems, development initiatives and master data processes. The role is responsible for the analysis, requirements, testing, documentation and overall support of the ETL and related data processes. The position also has responsibility for supporting data standards and normalization processes in support of the Data Governance processes. Work closely with manager and supporting departments to ensure all incoming data is imported timely, normalized and available for customer reporting. Work with manager to define standard operating procedures and Service and Quality level measures. Follows established procedures. Collaborate with team members and make suggestion to manager for any process improvement and/or efficiency opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities May Include

Target Achievements:

  • Responsible for the functional support and development initiatives for DecisionSource.

  • Supports the booked and transactional data development initiatives: analysis, documentation, mapping of requirements and testing.

  • Monitors the data processes and ensure all the underlining ETL processes are completed successfully.

  • Provides on-going 2nd level support for all data investigation requests.

  • Serve as SME on master data development initiatives: analysis, documentation, requirements and testing.

  • Analyzes, approves and submits data augmentation and data transformation requests ensuring all requests are essential and complete.

  • Responsible for data update processes that may be required to update data after import in DecisionSource.

  • Responsible for master data anomaly research and discrepancy resolution.

  • Responsible for maintaining master data tables and ensuring they remain up to date at all times.

  • Establish processes in support of data augmentation, as well as documenting the augmentation processes.

  • Helps write process documentation for all supported processes and ensure documentation is maintained accordingly.

  • Creates test plans coordinates testing efforts for all data development initiatives.

  • Create, interpret and run SQL scripts to aid in the research and problem solving.

  • Keep manager abreast of any process or workload challenges that may impact SLAs.

  • Escalation point for data issues within DecisionSource.

  • Follow proper human resources and company processes and policies.


  • Support department initiatives in order to meet company goals.

  • Recommend changes and improvements in alignment with the CDS strategy

  • Keep abreast of technologies and industry trends

  • Must have 3 + years of experience working in a technical role, supporting data and MIS systems

  • Solid knowledge of the global data environment and data capabilities

  • Strong technology background, including an understanding of multiple environments, database systems, databases, business intelligence tools, reporting tools and a working knowledge of the development environment.

  • Strong competency of SQL tools and ability to effectively write and interpret queries and results to aid in troubleshooting efforts.

  • Knowledge of the pre-trip and Post trip data collection process, work flow and data integration process.

  • Strong knowledge of pre and post trip reporting databases

  • College degree, preferably in the computer related field, or equivalent technical work experience

  • Able to work extended and or off-hours as needed or required

  • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary
