We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Training Instructor, DRG / SCS. The Training Instructor will design, develop, and implement various education and development programs pertaining to the functions and applications of clinical studies and/or SCS and DRG product technologies and advanced clinical application for sales representatives, clinical organizations (e.g. Clinical Studies, Field Clinical Engineer and clinical sites), employees and customers across all product lines. These activities may include, but are not limited to, advanced development and coordination of education programs. Promotes the process of continuous quality improvement and finding solutions for technical issues. The Training Instructor identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Exercises independent judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status to manager.

Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical:

  • Researches and develops customized educational curricula on the technology and benefits of Company products in response to the identified needs of sales representatives, clinical organizations (e.g. Clinical Studies, Field Clinical Engineer and clinical sites), employees and customers

  • Organizes, identifies and solicits appropriate faculty for, and teaches product education classes and seminars prior to new product launch

  • Conducts curriculum development in order to ensure the training of Department Work Instructions (DWIs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manual of Operations (MOPs), Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations for the sales representatives, clinical organizations, employees as well as other customers (e.g. clinical entities/site)

  • Provides instructional training and assessment/certification support for complex medical devices as well as associated processes that span the full range of SJM products to an audience consisting of advanced technical professionals

  • Organizes programs and lecture agendas as part of a group organization

  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge and practical expertise of products from all St. Jude Medical divisions, clinical studies, therapies, educational market and business objectives in order to develop and implement continuing education programs for company representatives. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the complete Neuromodulation product line as well as advancing product knowledge to support customer visits across product lines

  • Evaluates effectiveness of training materials and updates programs on a continuous basis as needed

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned

Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical’s marketplace success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences or equivalent

  • A minimum of five plus years of training experience

  • An understanding in the design/manufacture of neuromodulation products/therapies and the associated sales processes

  • Ability to apply the fundamental concepts and practices to conduct needs assignment and design in-house and field-based education/training programs

  • An understanding and expertise in the technical aspects and application of current and new neuromodulation products

  • Experience in Neuromodulation sales and/ or marketing experience

  • Affinity for educating others

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred
