GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable.)

  • Utilize Daily Checklist.

  • Maintain and repair, as needed, the equipment of the laundry utilizing and establishing a preventive maintenance program; determination of maintenance categories (corrective vs. preventative); establish maintenance priorities (low, average, high, emergency); evaluate maintenance complexity (basic to complex skill sets); and maintain a parts and tools inventory.

  • Ensures continuous operation, according to the design performance specifications of the building’s electrical and mechanical systems without unscheduled shutdown or outages.

  • Ensures building interiors are maintained in a safe and esthetically pleasing condition. Areas included, but not limited to: roof, windows, doors, painting and wall covering, flooring, ceiling, and plumbing.

  • Responsible for life safety systems, including, but not limited to, fire alarm system, security system, sprinkler inspection and testing, fire extinguishers, and mechanical room systems.

  • Responsible for the training and oversight of the safe use of all systems with the appropriate designated personnel.

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.

  • Provide focus on long-term resolutions to reduce reoccurring problems.

  • Ensure all personnel are working in a safe environment and are adhering to the Laundry Safety Procedures at all times.

    Minimum three (3) years of electronic/electrical and mechanical maintenance experience. EDUCATION (Minimumformal academic training which typically provides the knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance. Note in Other if experience may be substituted.)

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Required licenses, certificates, specific skills, personal traits, e.g., RN, CPA, able to type 90 wpm, detail orientation.)

  • Technical & Technologic Capacity: o General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles and of

    o Knowledge of computer systems and applications.

    o General knowledge of building and system maintenance, including internal and external components.

    o Ability to interpret technical manuals relative to preventive maintenance, ordering replacement parts and making repairs.

    o Reading comprehension necessary to interpret specifications for installations and maintenance of the equipment and related systems.

  • Leadership Skills: o Ability to delegate authority, responsibility to other staff personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties.

    o Ability to counsel/discipline personnel as required or as may become necessary when a Safety issue arises.

    o Ability to perform individually as well as with a team.

  • Relationship/Interpersonal Skills - demonstrated ability to build relationships and to work effectively with people of diverse social, faith, economic, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.
