TMX Finance Financial Analyst in Carrollton, Texas

We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team in Carollton, Texas. This role will be a responsible for maintaining existing reporting, assisting management in the creation of specific financial and data analyses, and collaborating with other departments to provide meaningful reporting. Candidates will be expected to become a subject matter expert for providing new insights into the performance of our business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify business challenges/opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic recommendations based on mining available consumer, collateral and transaction information and data
Generate innovative and dynamic ideas that actively contribute to a culture of continuous process improvement
Work with large data sets to perform financial analysis
Source and test data for new report processes and trend analysis
Develop, implement and employ financial metrics
Assist in the development of new and enhanced financial product offerings
Collaborate with business partners throughout a report lifecycle, from creation of the report, to the testing and ultimately the deployment of the report.
Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics or any related field
2-5 years of experience in business analysis, financial modeling and/or data analysis
Strong applied analytical toolset, including advanced understanding of statistics and state-of the art data mining techniques
Must be an experienced Excel user and able to create pivot tables, macros and effective formulas
Hands-on experience with data manipulation, data mining and statistics
Ability to build and maintain key business relationships
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities and “manage-up”
Must be self-directed with strong business acumen and analytical skills
Experience with SQL, SAS, R or Python is strongly preferred but not required
Must be effective and efficient in data mining and knowledge discovery (a process of massaging, testing and analyzing data from different perspectives and summarizing the results in a way that impacts driving financial decisions up to an executive level)
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Standing, walking, sitting, repetitive, movements, and use of mechanical controls, such as keyboard, are frequently required
