The Generics Analytics team is seeking a Manager, Data Analytics to support Product and Program management initiatives. The successful candidate will need to develop a comprehensive understanding of McKesson’s data environment. He or she will design data strategies, perform data extract and reporting activities. This person will be expected to write complex SQL scripts in order to gather and analyze data and will be expected to work closely with stakeholders to meet their data needs. He or she will be responsible for working with internal and external customers to understand purchasing requirements, order behavior, contract setup, and pricing management; and will develop and resolve critical / urgent initiatives needed to support customer growth and Generics expansion.

Position Description

The Manager, Data Analytics will lead the development and resolution of critical / urgent initiatives needed to support customer growth and provide critical decision support across all Generics program activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Understand McKesson’s Generics data environment

Design and build data solutions conducive for business insights, reporting and analytics

Use customer sales and supporting data to address customer questions and concerns; partner with internal clients to identify and measure opportunities for improving the customer’s relationship with McKesson and increase McKesson’s gross margins

Support the development of customer-level metrics needed to accurately manage market differentiating programs

Analyze opportunities for McKesson to expand generic product sales, services, and pricing strategies while examining market channels and exploring innovative business opportunities

Manage the compilation, analysis, and reporting of data via SQL and other tools to forecast trends, apply various analytical techniques (i.e. mathematical models and/or statistical techniques) to support Retail National Accounts customer growth.

Analyze customer purchasing trends and generic launch conversions to provide clear internal guidance with product conversion strategies

Evaluate business performance and analyze impact to market share ensure McKesson ability to exceed customer net sales and net income targets

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners and internal clients

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Expert level skills in SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access

Expertise troubleshooting data quality issues and analyzing data requirements

Strong analytical capabilities and ability to make recommendations based on data

Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Critical Skills

Code in T-SQL. Experience with other flavors (Oracle, Teradata, DB2, etc) of SQL is acceptable

Strong communication skills with internal customers

Excel skills, high level. V-lookups, pivot tables, reporting

Report development in SSRS. Experience with other reporting tools (Business Objects, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc) is acceptable
Additional Knowledge & Skills Experience with building Tableau dashboards or other data visualization tool a plus

Education Minimum of a BA or BS or equivialent experience; MBA a plus.
