This Medicaid Rebate Analyst will support the Programs and Compliance organization, which is responsible for Government price reporting and rebate processing of OTC and Generic drugs to the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The Medicaid Rebate Analyst position is a customer-facing role responsible for analyzing, documenting, validating and processing of State Medicare and Medicaid rebate invoices. The Medicaid Rebate Analyst will also support the Government Pricing Manager in Class of Trade and customer rebate research and analysis and other ad-hoc projects that support the team initiatives.
Process Rebates invoiced under the MDRP, including Federal Medicaid (FFS), Manage Care Medicaid (MCO), State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs, State Programs and Federal and State Supplemental programs
Perform Trend analysis to identify issues and proactive resolution of issues through root cause analysis
Reconcile sales history to the General ledger
Perform Class of Trade research
Perform Customer rebate analysis
Prepare and report on rebate business statistics, variance analysis and KPI
Ad Hoc Request / Special Projects
1-3 Years experience with government pricing, finance, accounting, or related field
Technical Skills: Proficient in Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Knowledge of SAP or other pharmaceutical contract/rebate systems a plus. Must possess technical skills sufficient to learn new systems, understand system functionality, and test systems when required.
Organization skills – Must possess good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Ability to adjust to changing needs within the organization and flexibility to change priorities as needed. Must be able to work under strict deadlines.
Communication – Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with external and internal customers.
Analytics: Must be good with math and numbers, able to analyze data and trends, good critical reasoning skills. Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail; the ability to appropriately define issues and question data; to comprehend qualitative and quantitative methods to perform accurate analysis. Advanced analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy are necessary to ensure compliance with timelines, internal policies, laws and regulations.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of business intelligence applications (e.g., Business Objects), SQL, SSRS
Process improvement mindset or experience
Knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems
4-year degree in Finance or related field or equivalent experience
