McKesson is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager – Shared Services for US Pharma’s Accounting Center of Excellence (ACE) to manage transitions, integrations, and other project work, as well as contribute to month-end close processes and provide bench strength if needed to other team members.
This position is responsible for managing transitions of work to ACE and our virtual offshore team, integrations of newly acquired businesses, and other project work, as well as contributing to month-end close processes. This position is critical to the success of ACE as an on-going business partner to many stakeholders at McKesson and this position’s responsibilities will grow as more work transitions into ACE.
Primary contact in coordinating work that is transitioning to ACE from other BUs, or transitioning to our offshore virtual team.
Coordination of fixed asset integration work when a new business or physician practice is acquired.
Coordinating or participating in weekly status update meetings and keeping management apprised as to the status of the transitions as well as ensuring deadlines are met in a timely fashion.
Effectively communicate with leaders of others groups within McKesson on a consistent basis
Engaged in monthly close processes as required, or to gain experience for further career progression
Lead or participate in automation and efficiency projects
Interface with consultants on any requests regarding transitions
Ad-hoc technical accounting research
5+ years accounting experience including 2+ years managerial experience
Technical research within the Accounting Codification
Fixed asset experience
Strong data analytical skills with an understanding of databases and querying
Intermediate to Advance skills on MS Excel(pivot, v-look ups, sum if’s, formulas)
Prior experience using an ERP system preferably with SAP
Public Accounting experience
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Strategic thinker and problem solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated process improvement background
Team player with demonstrated ability to lead and build cross-functional relationships
Adaptable to a fast paced and quickly changing environment
Effective prioritization and multi-tasking abilities
Experience with Access or SQL
4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
