This position will assist the rebate function for the Independent/Small Chain (ISMC) segment of the US Pharma division. Currently, rebates in this segment total $1.8 billion annually and consequently have a significant impact on our gross margin. This function requires well developed skills in accounting, business analysis, and process improvement. This position will assist the rebates team with interpretation and analysis of customer agreements ensuring the integrity of financial information.
Facilitate, monitor and report the workload prioritization, distribution, and completion of tasks for the team
Participate in agreement draft reviews, on-boarding and implementation of new and revised contracts and customer agreements to ensure accurate and timely issuance of rebate payments.
Liaise with management to design procedures and processes for effective and efficient set-up for rebate programs and implement solutions for process and profitability improvements
Perform detailed analysis and review of processes/transactions with a strict adherence to GAAP, Company and SOX compliance and policies
Interact with internal and external customers and stakeholders in order to research and resolve issues related to customer rebate payments
Ensure all accruals/rebate calculations are updated/reviewed to ensure a timely and accurate month end close process
Provide feedback to Sr. Manager on performance, strengths and weaknesses of ISMC analysts and participate, as required, in performance management and development of ISMC analysts
Be a champion of the “One Rebates” culture through collaboration and information sharing
Perform review of monthly general ledger reconciliations and provide guidance to analysts to ensure appropriate action is taken
Collaborate with the accounting, finance and pricing teams with monthly P&L analysis for customer rebate accounts
Participate in development of standardized and streamlined processes to facilitate rebate system enhancements and automation
Identify and communicate best practices and/or opportunities to strengthen controls
Use the various McKesson systems (BW, SAP, SMO, etc) to extract data for purposes of rebate accruals and analysis
Prepare, monitor, review and distribute monthly and ad hoc reporting
Special Projects and analysis as required
8+ years accounting experience
Must have strong analytical, financial analysis and conceptual thinking experience
Demonstrated leadership experience to include leading teams, providing coaching/mentoring to others or managing projects
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel
2+ years customer service experience and demonstrated leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to identify process improvement and lead initiatives
Ability to adapt and prioritize to a fast pace and changing environment
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Experience with understanding/interpreting contractual agreements highly preferred
Ability to obtain buy-in for solutions/recommendations
Strong project/time management skills
Process improvement experience
Presentation skills with the ability to lead meetings

Thorough knowledge of accounting policies, practices and systems
4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
