Current Need

McKesson Pharma seeks a qualified and self-motivated Sr. Financial Analyst to drive the Gx Supplier Rebate calculations related to Item Sub, Service Levels and Failure To Supply terms. The role requires significant deliverables in the areas of contract administration / implementation, rebate validation, income recognition, financial analytics and supplier dispute resolution for the Procurement Finance and Accounting Team. High level of excel and SQL data ad-hoc reporting, trending and forecasts is required.

Position Description

Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the monthly Gx Failure To Supply(FTS) accounting and finance processes including data, calculation and exclusion validations and Supplier invoicing submission

  • Support both short-term and long-term technology and business change initiatives representing the FTS desk

  • Support McKesson and Joint Venture partners in launching new PP terms across Supplier platforms

  • Perform month-end accounting close processes including reserves and external auditor PBC requests

  • Facilitate FTS IT processes between GFA, Gx Product and other stakeholders

  • Document FTS drug supply disruption events as required

  • Assist in supplier implementation of new or amended agreements to ensure validity of income

  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for Finance and Business forecasting and analyze the variance between actual vs. forecast and provide data analysis to support business decisions

  • Interpret supplier contracts and maintain supplier master-tables used to calculate rebates

  • Coordinate and collaborate with external suppliers, product managers and other internal stakeholders including Pricing, Billing, Supplier Relations, etc.

  • Meet product managers and communicate income recognition and dispute resolution to the Product Management team

  • Ensure compliance to SOX requirements for Gx supplier income processes and controls; Maintain documentation of procedures and processes

  • Support special projects, including process improvement, system enhancement, ad-hoc analysis and business initiatives

  • Prepare financial metrics and scorecard performance to the Controller and VP of Product Management


Minimum Requirements

5+ years accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience

Critical Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP)

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excel skills including proficiency with pivot tables, v-lookups, data analysis, charts, etc…

  • Basic SQL skills

  • Contract interpretation and analysis experience

  • Attention to Detail with Accuracy

  • Timely and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Ability to manage small-scope projects or engagements

  • Financial Integrity

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems

  • Gx and/or general Healthcare Industry experience

  • Organizational skills

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • SAP experience or other type of large ERP system

  • Revenue Recognition experience

  • Advanced Excel User including macros and nested formulas

  • Troubleshoot user interfaces of proprietary systems


MBA preferred in finance or related field or equivalent experience
