Current Need

Are you accustomed and comfortable with a changing, complex and fast paced environment with multiple deliverables and tight deadlines? If so, this could be your opportunity to excel and grow. We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst for our Contracts Administration Department.

The department performs essential contract administration functions with wide ranging financial and operational impact to the business. In this position, you will work alongside our management and business process groups internally and externally. You will be will be given tremendous opportunities to demonstrate your initiative, self-reliance, analytical thinking, project management and exemplary organizational skills. In this role you will support business units through the identification and execution of high ROI impact process reengineering and automation projects. You will proactively analyze financial and operational data (pricing accuracy, disputed claims, contract loads and EDI) from multiple sources in order to provide the business with detailed reporting and insights regarding trends and opportunities for operational improvement.

Position Description

  • Address and resolve manufacturer dispute claims through in-depth data analysis of data presented and internal data extraction. Conduct analysis independently to include seeking knowledge in areas not previously identified or known. Research all components of dispute claims to minimize loss to McKesson.

  • Lead and execute through data analysis, direct observation and interaction, process reengineering and automation opportunities. Work with IT (Production and System Support teams) to identify system issues or performances challenges. Present project proposals with supporting financial and operational data to senior management for approval and prioritization.

  • Identify and initiate process improvement projects based on root cause analysis. Implement process solutions, which will enable the operations teams to function more efficiently and effectively.

  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve complex issues that cross department, business unit or corporate boundaries.

  • Monitor system and EDI performance, internally and externally to ensure the efficient flow of EDI files to and from manufacturers including timely delivery and completeness of posting manufacturer files.

  • Initiate collections follow up and avoid adverse impact to McKesson financials metrics (DCO and Denial rates). Monitor and identify critical aging and provide assistance to resolve and report to management all balance conditions that affect the reserve.

  • Analyze all balance components of the DCO and develop a strategy to seek ways to lower on an on-going basis.

  • Perform testing for system changes/enhancements, thoroughly documenting results and escalating exceptions. Participate in relevant UAT activities to ensure optimum system performance.

  • Mentor individuals identified through succession planning processes as potential business analysts.

  • Provide training to operation team members to develop and expand their processing skills.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

5+ years contract administration experience

Critical Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Data Analysis role within a fast paced business environment

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, statistics, information systems or combination of education and experience

  • Experience in analyzing very large and complex datasets (i.e. tens of thousands of lines)

  • Advanced level working knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel (v-look ups, pivot tables, charts, graphs, and macros), Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong relationship building and communication skills

  • Six Sigma process improvement experience strongly preferred (Greenbelt training) and or other process improvement methodology training. Prior experience identifying an area of business process improvement and executing on it with formal business process improvement methodology training is required

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Prior experience working with EDI transaction sets (EDI maps utilized: 800 Series/844, 845, 849) for testing validation and compliance within industry standards.

  • Experience working with ERP Systems such as: SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, Peoplesoft, etc.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong prioritization skills

  • Must be able to work independently and take full accountability

  • Prior project management experience (managing at minimum 2-3 primary projects and adhoc projects simultaneously) and researching skills

  • Must be able to work with cross functional teams (i.e. IT, Operations, and Finance)

  • Experience in a shared services center


4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
