Fallbrook is seeking a Validation Lead for product development projects centering on continuously variable transmissions that include Nuvinci technology. These projects may include creating new, or improving upon existing, transmissions, as well as developing corresponding interfaces, auxiliary systems, or test systems. Candidates must play a dual role combining project leadership while being responsible for significant individual technical contribution in the areas of validation planning, mechanical design, analysis, and validation of dynamic systems and mechanisms, validation, and production release of mechanical drivetrain components. The position will be based in our technology facility in Cedar Park near Austin, Texas.
In our matrix organization, leads product launch and improvement projects for one or more program managers.
Actively contribute within a cross-functional product development team that will consist of staff from the following disciplines: sales/marketing, engineering, prototyping/manufacturing, quality/metrology/test, and management.
Communicate and interface with IT, finance, HR, facilities, and customer support personnel to share information and obtain support as needed.
Manage prototype evaluation and validation flows
Manage product reliability
Actively identify reliability weaknesses and recommend, initiate, and drive process improvement
Model and determine reliability budgets and warranty forecasts
Establish and communicate execution targets and priorities
Write test plans and establish contracts with service providers
Provide effective decision making and recovery plans when issues arise
Embrace and mitigate risk issues
Identify risk as it relates to project schedule, quality, and budget
Collect and document cross-functional input using various tools, such as FMEA
Develop effective and valuable reliability-related risk mitigation plans.
Actively lead problem resolution (root cause analysis and corrective action, 8D, 5-Why, Is/Is-Not
Create reports or other documentation to memorialize findings and decision strategies.
Work with project manager to achieve product improvement or launch objectives thru application of knowledge and strategies, practicing data-based conclusion and decision-making, and taking action, while balancing constraints of quality, cost, schedule, and resources.
Develop test procedures to address reliability concerns or failure modes.
Experience with utilization of industry standards.
Ability to create new test procedures for product-specific failure modes.

Minimum of 5 years of experience performing key responsibilities listed above
A degree in engineering, engineering technology, physics, and/or statistics
Firm understanding of processes and concepts needed to develop and enhance product reliability
Experience in leveraging test strategies in planning and execution
Background in product development and electromechanical systems
Comprehension and use of statistics
Strong strategic, analytical, organizational, and management skills
Hands on personality, team-oriented, but also proficient at operating autonomously
Dedicated and ability to persevere, motivated to learn, teach, invent, and continuously improve
Thorough knowledge and adept user of MS Office
