Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions for multiple distribution centers.

  • Performs statistical analyses to determine P&L trends, estimates, and significant changes.

  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current branch financial position as needed.

  • Manage Fixed Assets including additions, disposals and depreciation.

  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.

  • Prepare and post journal entries as needed. Analyze records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of journal entries.

  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with JSOX defined processes, procedures and controls.

  • Ensures timely completion or YE financial audit by external auditors.

  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

  • Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.

  • Special projects as assigned.

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance

  • 3-5 years related general accounting experience

  • Hands-on experience with JD Edwards preferred

  • Advanced user of MS Excel
