_This position is located in DALLAS, TX and is project-based - available for up to 3 years._

This position supports the External and Legislative Affairs organization and provides data analytics company-wide in support of the Corporate and Foundation philanthropic and public policy initiatives. Additionally, this position will ensure all philanthropy and public policy giving is captured across the enterprise and through all financial data sources. This role performs complex analysis of a large set of data elements, to provide operational and programmatic reports that are used to make informed strategic business decisions as well as externally convey AT&T s philanthropic and public policy role to key influential and media in the community. This position also performs complex research from thought leaders, corporate peer groups, think tanks and trade organizations on emerging trends in corporate philanthropy and public policy.

These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Processing complex, large scale data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research

  • Designing and implementing automation of data gathering and mining.

  • Developing principles and frameworks for curating data.

  • Employing data mining techniques to achieve data normalization, redundancy elimination, data reconciliation, and problem root cause analysis.

  • Designing and implementing statistical data quality procedures for new data sources

  • Uses predictive modeling, statistics, and trend analysis to make predictions on future outcomes.

  • Evaluate statistical methods and procedures used to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy of data.

  • Researches trends or anomalies in data, identifies information that does not provide comparable data parity and highlights that information with the client or provides a different view of the data that serves the client s need.

  • Performing statistical analyses in tools such as SAS, SPSS, R or Weka

  • Analyzing emerging trends in corporate philanthropy and public policy and visualizing and reporting data findings creatively to provide insights to the organization.

  • Identify and provide innovative forward thinking solutions. This will include business requirements, testing and data implementation.

  • Develops recommendations to general and senior management and incorporates best practices and policies into the AT&T reporting framework.

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Public Policy.

  • Experience: Typically 2-5 years of related experience, database design and use, and effective communication skills.

  • Advanced data modeling experience, statistical analysis, and financial analysis. Advanced MS Excel, MS Access skills.

  • Strong SQL, data base management skills to ensure automation and analysis are fully utilized.

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills to interact and build relationships with all levels of non-management/management across AT&T organizations and vendors.

  • Strong data integrity and data analytical skills. Ability to fill in data gaps from multiple sources for consolidation.

  • Strong observation and analytical skills in order to develop policies and standards for reporting as well process solutions/suggestions.

  • Excellent analytical skills; able to query, gather and analyze data for current and future visions.

  • Strong organizational skills. Has the ability to effectively manage and organize large volume of information and materials from multiple sources and/or people.

  • Capacity to be flexible and adaptable in fast-paced fluid environment

  • Aptitude to respond to ambiguity and complexity

  • Talent to influence as well as achieve consensus

  • Solid ability to combine data from dissimilar database platforms into a common reporting platform.

  • Strong experience in developing and implementing projects.

  • Ability to discern action items that are urgent versus important.

  • Responsiveness/timeliness/efficiency in interaction with clients and groups requesting data.
