Source, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing contract carriers
Facilitate shipments with carriers utilizing our database and other provided resources.
Majority of time is spent negotiating spot market commitments with carriers including prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, and closing deals.
Coordinate freight planning and scheduling with Account Managers to ensure customer satisfaction
Handle dispatch operations with carriers and their drivers
High school education
Two years industry experience
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast paced environment
Problem solving and analytical skills
Great phone presence and effective interpersonal communication skills.
Comfortable with computer and multiple applications.
Ability to work in a team environment
MercuryGate or TMS experience a plus
