University of Texas at Dallas Compensation Analyst I in Dallas, Texas

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Employment Services, the Compensation Analyst I performs entry-level compensation duties related to the maintenance, implementation and administration of the university’s compensation policies and programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to reviewing salary data, assisting with compensation surveys and maintaining accuracy in employee data.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resources or related area.

  • 0-3 years experience in Compensation Administration; and

  • 0-3 years hands on knowledge of market pricing and job evaluation techniques; and

  • 0-3 years calculation and interpretation of mathematical formulas such as percentages, ratios, statistical average, median, multiple regressions; and

  • 0-3 years intermediate proficiency level in MS Office Excel with basic proficiency level in Peoplesoft and basic proficiency level with an applicant tracking system.

An equivalent level of education and/or experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • CCP, PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.

  • Experience administering compensation programs in higher ed, government agency, or non-profit environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance necessary to develop and administer compensation policies and programs.

  • Prepare recommendation for compensation actions using information gathered from market research, employee data and salary surveys.

  • Review proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policy and practices.

  • Prepare ad hoc compensation and budget related reports for management decision support.

  • Maintain database of all job descriptions and compensation actions.

  • Ensure integrity of compensation data to assist with proactive and comprehensive compensation studies.

  • Work directly with university departments to complete compensation actions relating to the attracting and retaining employees.
