Baylor Scott & White Health Continuing Medical Education Coordinator in DALLAS, Texas

The CME Coordinator is responsible for the logistical fulfillment and compliance monitoring of

Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities. The CME Coordinator develops, coordinates, and advises on assigned programs and projects to ensure compliance with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), other CME-related regulatory standards, and AWRC policies and procedures to provide comprehensive education to the hospital’s medical staff and support hospital strategic initiatives

Job Functions

I. Develops and implements comprehensive CME activities. Maintains strict

adherence to ensure compliance of accreditation criteria as required by

governing agencies. Monitors compliance of physicians and others with the

policies of AMA, ACCME and other accrediting bodies, including conflict of

interest. II. Trains program directors and faculty to navigate through CME required

documents. Distributes pre and post surveys to participants. Develops and

maintains organized records for ACCME review; ensures proper documentation.

Maintains data as required by the ACCME

III. Partners with program director and planning committee members to develop

course content and related materials to ensure course content is current and

meets medical best-practice standards, with emphasis on patient safety,

improved patient outcomes and patient care/quality

IV. Identifies and researches physician educational needs. Gathers data and relevant

information needed to provide continuing education to physicians and staff on

medical issues and/or related information. Communicates with physicians and

clients to determine needs for Continuing Medical Education Programs

V. Investigates, scrutinizes and ultimately determines the most effective and

reliable avenues to promote a CME activity. Reviews and approves all marketing

materials for the activity. Prepares, edits, and proofs all materials. Manages

ordering of mainlining lists and coordinates bulk mailing as need

VI. Manages all aspects of on-site and off-site CME activities as appropriate. Assists

with the administrative management of CME activities, acting as a liaison

between educational authority and recipients. Coordinates with venues and

vendors on dates, meeting rooms, faculty rooms, a/v, catering, etc. Corresponds

with faculty on travel, hotel, honorarium, etc. Prepares syllabus, handouts,

badges, etc. Manages courses on-site, makes decisions appropriately

VII. Accountable for all financial aspects of assigned CME activities. Negotiates and

prepares program budget and ensures expenditures are within approved budget.

Develops projected and actual budget for each activity. Works with program

director and planning committee members to identify possible sources of

funding to support activity. Submits formal requests for commercial support
