The Credentialing Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating all aspects of the credentialing/privileging process including applications for Medical Staff and Allied Health Practitioners initial and reappointments; securing primary source verification in compliance with medical staff bylaws, accreditation standards and state and federal regulations; providing monthly Credentials Committee meeting management, including coordination of review of complete applications, agenda, packet, minutes, related correspondence and follow-through; updating and maintaining credentialing data base and practitioner files; responding to inquiries and correspondence.
Credentialing Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Support and general assistance with projects or other tasks as assigned by Director; assisting in prioritizing daily workload; answering phones and greeting visitors; and providing customer service to hospital staff, administrative leadership, all current and potential medical staff members and their respective office staff.
Education: BA or equivalent experience preferred 3-5 years' acute care credentialing experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Certification as CPCS preferred but not required; CPMSM is an acceptable alternative
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Organizational, communication/language, analytical, customer services & data base skills. Previous accreditation experience. MS Office Suite proficiency. Credentialing software, Echo preferred. 55 wpm
