Federal Reserve Bank Data Analyst in Dallas, Texas

The data analyst is responsible for the acquisition, assessment, modelling, enrichment, and preparation of data assets for moderate complexity projects. The activities and data will be for multiple purposes across the organization. The data analyst may work with business team to build the data research and analytics to report the results in a business context. Ability to work under general direction and with a clear framework of accountability with substantial autonomy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Profiles data and specifies data quality rules to cleanse data.

  • Performs analysis on data and access patterns to determine constraints.

  • Locates data sets and prepares data or defines the specifications to prepare data from multiple sources: scripting, database management and queries.

  • Facilitate the execution of multiple implementations of small to mid-size scope and moderate complexity.

  • Provides data mappings requirements, user interface specifications, processing logic as per business requirements to the Developer.

  • Ability to communicate written and oral clearly to all levels of stakeholders (Developers, Architects, Customer).

  • Understand and reuse descriptive models.

  • Tests deliverables from a data standpoint which results from development efforts.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with writing SQL queries and profiling data.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in translating business requirement into dataset requirements.

  • Ability to quickly learn and practically apply new concepts or principles which can be confirmed by prior experiences.

  • Strong Business Analysis and problem solving skills.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

  • 1-2 years of Experience with one or more BI reporting and visualization tools (Tableau, QlikView, Webfocus, Microstrategy) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with basic statistical analyses (descriptive statistics).

  • Familiarity with the business concepts and questions motivating the analysis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Management Information Systems is required. - Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or equivalent certification a plus. - Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted.


8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Up to 10% travel is possible.
