Position Summary and Responsibilities:


This person will provide administrative support to the Sales/Engineering/Purchasing personnel as required. Main focus will be Bill of Materials and Product Structures entry. The Data Entry Clerk must have a strong familiarity with computers and software. Other requirements will include a high rate of typing (50 words per minute or faster), use of databases, troubleshooting of computer related issues, and the ability to offer excellent customer service while working in a fast-paced, team environment. A high level of quality of work and attention to detail is must.

Job Duties

  • Provide data entry support to the sales/engineering/purchasing teams

  • Encode data into database

  • Order entry and maintenance of orders

  • Completion of various documents related to order fulfillment

  • Perform basic management of electronic files (e.g. print, copy, and transfer)

  • Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing etc.

  • Access information from a computer and/or maintain a computer database

  • Check records for duplication

  • Check the accuracy of work completed

  • Adhere to policies, procedures and safety regulations

  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor

  • Follow current standards and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Fast and accurate keyboarding skills (50+ WPM)

  • Ability to understand logical processes and be detail-oriented

  • Familiar with databases (web-based databases would be an asset)

  • I.T. aptitude would be an asset

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and previous experience with Databases

  • Experience related to general administrative duties

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Related copy/mail/clerical experience preferred.

  • Ability to work with strong attention to detail and time lines

Work Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals

  • Overtime as required

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 1-2 years of experience related to Data Entry

Language Skills

  • Fluency in speaking and writing English

  • Ability to speak effectively in person or telephone.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computing skills

  • Proficient with MS Office applications i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Prior experience using a MRP or ERP system is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Light physical effort equal to occasional movement of TCS product or documentation

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk throughout the facility

  • Sitting for long periods, frequent computer and phone use
