Toyota's Electronic Systems (ES) Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Electronics Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop vehicle multimedia by design/package and manage assigned parts from concept to post launch quality assurance.

Reporting to the ES Manager, the person in this role will support the Electronics Systems department's objective to create new multimedia applications using Bluetooth technologies.


  • Planning future Telematics and Multimedia system designs: including Navigation, Bluetooth, Wifi, HD Radio, voice recognition, HMI, Smartphone integration, cellular/data server interface and future services

  • Conduct market research and trends on automobile and consumer electric trends

  • Manage vehicle side feasibility and cost studies on new technologies

  • Administer negotiations with Japan engineering groups, hardware/service suppliers and sales/marketing (TMS) to realize new in-vehicle technologies

  • Direct benchmarking competitor OEM systems, including available features, cost breakdown and customer value/demand

  • Creation of functional specifications for each suppliers

  • Support and trouble shoot issues found during prototype/production builds

  • Interface with system component engineers such as cockpit electronics

  • Lead as liaison between various Toyota Design Center's Engineering Staff

  • Follow all documented processes and development schedules

  • Support kaizen/update of process as needed during parts development

  • Responsible to solve problems related to their assigned parts

  • Comply to existing plans/strategies

A successful candidate will have:

  • BS in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering

  • Marketing Research &Trends experience

  • Automotive Industry experience in electronics

  • Good project management skills

  • Telematics or Multimedia development experience

  • Willingness to travel both domestically and abroad

    A successful candidate may have:

  • MS in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering

  • Capability in managing multiple suppliers for connected service products

  • Involvement in working with multi-tier supplier structure

  • Product planning experience

  • Experience in a Toyota environment
