Our Commercial Bankers are also responsible for efficiently deploying the firm’s capital across the globe by evaluating clients’ credit needs. Commercial Bankers work closely with partners in Independent Risk to conduct in-depth financial analysis in order to evaluate credit risk associated with extensions of capital. Commercial Bankers are also held accountable for maintaining an appropriate balance between Citi revenues and risk associated with extending capital.

The Business Banking Commercial Lending Head is a senior leadership role in Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) which manages the credit underwriting and portfolio management teams, approves credit facilities and is responsible for the overall lending process. The role provides primary leadership responsible for the credit delivery strategy, implementation and direct underwriting oversight for the Business Banking segment of the Citi Commercial Bank. The role includes leading teams responsible for loan origination credit analysis, underwriting and portfolio management.The position will help provide lending credit services and supporting revenue growth while managing credit risk and portfolio performance to meet the goals of the Business Banking segment in the Citi Commercial Bank.

On a daily basis, Head of Business Banking Commercial Lending will be responsible for the following

Supervision & Partnership:

·Manage competitive service levels for the day to day production delivery for all loan originations.

·Ensure adequate controls are in place to satisfy regulatory requirements and credit policy.

·Provide premier customer service for our internal partners by effectively managing relationships with Area Managers and Bankers.

·Maintain frequent interaction with business partners to assure ongoing and appropriate communication to support overall business objectives.

·Partner with Business segment leadership, Area Managers and other Senior Managers in the Operations and Service organization to achieve customer service level goals

·Lead Team managers in managing day to day production and promote a strong and balanced risk management culture that demonstrates clarity, candor and integrity.

·Manage budget while driving efficiencies in operations year over year

Staffing & Development:

·Lead, manage, and develop a high performing team, maintaining high engagement levels.

·Set appropriate goals and provide timely feedback, coaching, training and development assignments to motivatestaff and to drive superior performance

·Attract and retain quality talent from inside or outside the Bank as required

·Provide direction, training, coaching, counseling and supervision to the Team managers with goal of developing and coaching staff

Lending Process Management:

·Foster an environment of continual process improvement and world class service. Responsible for the development of strategies that drive continuous process improvements throughout the business.

·Partner in defining strategic direction and manage initiatives to successful completion. Develop and manage risk differentiated credit delivery processes including implementation of critical credit systems such as CitiRisk.

·Manage approval functions and improve credit delivery Turnaround Times (TAT) to facilitate time to close, improve client experience and minimize adverse selection

·Support Team Managers in managing application and portfolio review pipelines, meeting targeted service levels, implementing processes and procedures, and reviewing quality of production

·Manage the credit portfolio to control volatility while supporting performance within the planned revenue and loan loss budget/forecasts

Risk Management and Controls:

·Communicate and ensure adherence to Centralized Credit procedures and Citi Commercial Credit Policy and Credit standards

·Work closely with Independent Risk, Compliance and other Controls & Audit functions to ensure robust portfolio evaluations and underwriting reviews (lead and participate in strategic initiatives, projects and process reviews)

·Work with Independent Risk to monitor external environment for any potential emerging risks

·Sponsor, recommend and approve credits facilities both as a first approver and as a final approver up to the authority delegated to CLM under CCB policies

·Responsible for data integrity strategy and implementation, and improving processes surrounding data quality, reporting requirements and regulatory compliance.

·Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required.
