We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Market Development Specialist. We have an incredible opportunity for a Market Development Specialist to work with our innovative Sales and Clinical Services team.

Impact this role will have on St. Jude Medical:

  • Effective development and growth of territory for referrals to territory key accounts for Mechanical Circulatory Support.

  • Effective and timely management of territory market development issues, and process related issues including: monthly reports, Territory Action Plans, expense management, Concur expense reporting, and Sales Force Automation program input.

  • Effective communication and collaboration with: territory, marketing, training and education and management teams.

  • Communicate regularly with preceptor and/or Market Development Management Coordinator.

  • Outreach and Inreach events strategically planned and executed in a cost effective manner to increase education and referrals.

  • Targeted approach to growing the business, including action plans that utilize the Strategic Selling Sales Methodology.

  • Awareness of and adherence to Advamed guidelines.

  • Must be able to travel in the U.S. and internationally (when required). Estimated 25% overnight travel within geography mentioned above.

  • Maintains a good driving record.

  • Ability to work effectively from a home office base and must provide the majority of their own typing, filing, and communications support.

  • Ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand St. Jude Medical’s marketplace success:

  • BA/BS Degree required.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in pharmaceutical cardiology sales (selling pharmacological drugs such as Coreg, Natrecor, Inspra, or other) selling to physicians and hospitals, or comparable experience, is required.

Your preferred qualifications and education:

  • Heart Failure Device or Cardiovascular Surgery experience is preferred.

  • Need to have demonstrated ability to organize education and referring programs, grand rounds, etc. Computer literacy is preferred.

  • Knowledge of assigned geographical area required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to be assertive, self-starting, and conducting face to physician/clinician selling.
