Toyota's Quality Assurance Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Senior Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is assuring product quality used by Toyota North America Manufacturing Companies (NAMC.)
Reporting to the Manager, the person in this role will support the Quality Assurance department's objective to ensure the quality of sheet metal, fasteners, and welded or heat treated parts used in Toyota vehicles.
Interact with suppliers regarding solving quality problems, process changes, localization
Qualification of new facilities and processes
Support NAMCs to resolve any technical issues
Maintenance of related quality systems and documentation New vehicle model project for selected suppliers/parts including process audits/part evaluations, and education for suppliers regarding Toyota’s expectations, and communicating/reporting with all related divisions/departments Analysis of warranty return parts regarding metallurgy, determine cause, determine appropriate future action and report Supplier Improvement for suppliers to guide their improvement according to agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), minimizing any disruption at the NAMCs Regular status meetings at supplier to observe and evaluate improvements Auditing suppliers’ processes to Toyota’s expectation in the areas of heat treating and/or welding
A successful candidate will have :
Bachelor of Science/Engineering in/or Material Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical Working knowledge of industry testing methods and procedures for materials Experience in metallography Experience in heat treating quality of ferrous material for automotive application Experience in quality system audits or process audits (ID cause and countermeasure) Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills Proven ability to write concise technical reports Ability to judge built in quality of manufacturing process A successful candidate may have :
Graduate degree in Material Science, Welding, Metallurgy Post-graduation professional experience in materials quality assurance Experience in automotive supplier quality assurance Experience in production heat treating (neutral hardening/carburizing/induction hardening) Experience sheet metal quality assurance, working with primary producers of aluminum or steel Experience working with Toyota, either as supplier or internal. ASQ CQA and/or CQE certification Bilingual capability Spanish or Japanese STANDARD BENEFITS:
