Interstate Batteries National Account Manager in Dallas, Texas

To wisely manage Interstate Batteries' relationship with assigned accounts so that customers are satisfied, Interstate is profitable and sales grow.

  • Assist salesman in the launch of any new accounts for which he will become account manager.

  • Implement and track the performance of every provision in the supplier/customer agreement.

  • Report program performance to the customer and to the department Director monthly as needed.

  • Grow the aggregate volume of managed accounts by a minimum of 30,000 units/year.

  • Control overhead of each account.

  • Develop long-term business plan and strategy in order to gain economic and operational efficiencies.

  • Entertain clients to ensure loyalty and to maintain maximum customer satisfaction.

  • Manage special projects as assigned by department Director or requested by customer.

  • Facilitate communication among internal departments.

  • Manage pricing actions

  • Control warranty programs

  • Develop annual budget for each account

  • Become the “expert” on the assigned accounts and implement approved changes to the customer program.

  • Ensure the consistent, day-to- day performance of our commitments.

  • Work with internal departments toward the completion of critical projects.

  • Aid in bringing uncooperative Distributors into compliance with program parameters.

  • Business degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3 years of successful automotive account management experience

  • Battery business knowledge preferred

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to balance multiple assignments with little supervision

  • Good analytical skills

  • Willing to travel

  • Proven sales ability a plus
